Finally, shooting for the film has been completed and patch-up works in production works are pending now. Arya and Pooja who had been coming up with clichéd roles as peppy youngsters have something more different here.

About the Movie:

For spiritual and astrological amends, a father drives his son away from home. The boy leaves Tamilnadu and takes refuge in Kasi. He (Arya) grows up in the midst of Saadhu and Sanyasins and become one with long hair and gory looks. Meanwhile, realising his folly, the father goes in search of his son to Varanasi. Shocked to see his son in such state, he decides to bring his back to his home town. His encounters in Tamilnadu and turn of events after he leaves to Varanasi forms the story.

Actress Pooja for the first time dubs in her own voice and Director Bala wanted her to do with attempts of fetching her National Awards. Lyricist Vaali who had penned lyrics in appraisals of Lord Vishnu in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Dasavatharam’ has composed lyrics in appraisal of Lord Shiva over here.

Censor Board officials will watch the film on November 30 and plans are to release it on Pongal. Since movies with Digital Interlude (DI) are not considered for National awards, both the cinematographer and the director have not used DI in the film.

Musical Maestro was joined by acclaimed Bollywood composer Uttam Singh for re-recording. For the first time, a full-fledged song in Sanskrit feature in the movie.

Initially Dhanush falls in love with Tammana at first sight but she too loves after few scenes and duets. Tamanna made secret for getting her back Dhanush had to fight. Dhanush has a fee for his head too as he earned the anger of another blood greedy criminal by accident.

A slum kid Sabha (Nakul) is nursed back to health after an accident by a rich girl (Sunaina). Sabha turns crazy after the rich girl’s death and refuses to accept it despite being saddled with her corpse. He goes on a killing spree before ending his life in the climax after being chased by a cop (Sampath) who seems to have nothing else to do.

The film’s only plus points are Vijay Anthony’s music and Vijay Milton’s camera work.

A. R. Rahman’s brilliance is in abundance both with the songs and the background score, but debutant director Kalaprabhu has miserably failed to match the refreshing standards set by the talented musician. Visualization of the songs has been worked out well but then does not go with the mood of the film. Art direction in the song sequences has to be lauded. Recreation of the Van Helsing set and certain other similar endeavors have come out well. Computer Generated Imagery that features in the song sequences has come good. Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Ocher Studios’ involvement in the film is commendable. There are no villains in the film and the director has struggled to keep the conflict element going.

There is however one song ‘Taxi….Taxi’ that stands out. Youthful vigor, catchy tunes and a mood that personifies joy has come out brilliantly. Shantanoo is at ease in the song with some good dancing complimenting the rest of the dancers that include hip-swaying damsels.
